Are you interested in becoming an American Heart Association (AHA) CPR instructor?

The ideal instructor candidate:
- is motivated to teach and facilitate learning
- is motivated to ensure that students acquire the skills necessary for successful course completion
- views student assessment as a way to improve individual knowledge and skills

To become an AHA Instructor, you must:

1. Be accepted by an AHA Training Center (TC) that is accepting new instructors.
2. Have a current provider card and be proficient in your skills.
3. Successfully complete the Instructor Essentials course, including both the online portion and the classroom/hands-on session.
4. Successfully be monitored teaching your first class within 6 months of completing the hands-on session of the training.

Training Concepts, Inc. is an authorized TC with AHA accepting new instructors.  We offer approximately one new instructor course per month. The AHA Instructor Essentials course is taught in a blended learning format.  The first portion of the training consists of a self-directed, online course, followed by a hands-on classroom course held at our office from 9:00 am to 4:00pm.  The final step in achieving your instructor status is being successfully monitored teaching your first class.

The AHA mandates that all instructors align with a training center. By attending our class, you are choosing to align with Training Concepts. The annual fee for affiliating with Training Concepts is $60 and will be billed when you've completed the process of becoming an instructor and are issued your card.  You will complete the Instructor Application at the classroom portion of the training.  If you intend to align with another training center, please let us know before registering for the class, so we can provide you with the necessary paperwork.

When you become an AHA CPR Instructor, you will be able to teach numerous CPR/AED and First Aid courses that AHA offers. You will be able to train co-workers, childcare workers, teachers, students, family, friends, and organizational groups.

Please submit the registration form below to begin the process.  Once we receive your registration and the deposit for the training, we can confirm you for a class. At that time, we'll provide you with the online course code, the instructor manual and other course materials you'll need.  Our classes do fill up, so please submit your registration form as soon as you've determined a date that works for you to hold a spot in one of our upcoming classes.  We may also add additional classes if needed, so feel free to call the office to inquire at 708-596-3155.
