October 2008 News & Reminders

Instructors-

Issuing Cards
According to AHA policy the issue date and renewal date fields on all cards must be date stamped or computer generated. You may not write the date in these fields. We have had an increase of calls from employers trying to verify cards when these fields are hand-written. Please make sure that you buy yourself a date stamp if you have not done so already. For your convenience Training Concepts now has date stamps & ink pads in stock to purchase for $8.00. Just stamp the month & year; do not put a date! Also, please make sure that your instructor signature is legible. We need to be able to read the instructor name when we are verifying cards. You do not have to sign the card you may print your name in the field and your contact number.
Effective October 1st, 2008 Training Concepts WILL NOT verify any card that has the date fields hand written in or if we cannot read the instructor signature.

Class Rosters
It is important to turn in your class rosters ASAP after a class. Training Concepts enters ALL students and classes into a database so we may quickly look up and verify class attendance. If we do not have your rosters in a timely manner it makes the verification process much harder and most students who you issue HCP cards to depend on this verification for securing or maintaining a job. Training Concepts prefers that you mail your rosters and student evaluations and not fax them.

Payment for supplies
All supplies need to be paid for in full at the time they are ordered or are picked up. It needs to be cash and carry or be charged to a credit card. I will take a check or signed PO# from a facility or a personal check if you are in good standing. I have many outstanding invoices that are long overdue. We will be emailing these invoices out again seeking payment. Training Concepts does business ‘in good faith’ and needs to be paid. My suppliers demand that I pay them in 30 days. We do now take both MasterCard and Visa to make paying easier.

Updated AED Law for Illinois
Please go to our website www.LRNCPR.com and click on Instructor News and Resources on the left side or click here. You can print the new revised law. The law now states that beginning Jan 1, 2009 outdoor sports being played more than 300 feet from a school building must have an AED on the field. Also, whenever there is an event on school property one person must be onsite who is certified in CPR/AED.

New Materials for Training Now Available
The Prestan manikin was recently released and is a great manikin for a good price. Check our website to view this new brand of manikin that is reasonably priced at $130 with compression sensor. We just sent for this manikin to have on hand for you to see and check out. Call our office if you would like to place an order.
Also, we are now stocking small pediatric training masks that can be used with the training valves that we sell. This adds a more realistic hands-on approach to ventilating infants during practice. This is the first time that a training device like this is available. We are selling them for $5 each.
