**Please Note: American Heart Association will be releasing new 2010 CPR guidelines in October. There will be a few month lag until new teaching materials will be released for use in training. We will be holding our last instructor course of 2010 in September and then resume classes after the new materials are released in the 1st Quarter of 2011. We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.**
Are you interested in becoming an American Heart Association CPR instructor?
The ideal instructor candidate:
-is motivated to teach and facilitate learning
-is motivated to ensure that students acquire the skills necessary for successful course completion
-views student assessment as a way to improve individual knowledge and skills
Training Concepts, Inc. offers approximately one new instructor course per month. The course consists of a one-day classroom course held from 8:30am to 4:30pm, a 7-hour self-directed CD-ROM course issued by the American Heart Association and a monitoring session for the first class that you teach.
When you become a BLS CPR Instructor you will be able to teach all CPR/AED and First Aid courses that AHA offers. You will be able to train healthcare providers, co-workers, childcare workers, teachers, students, family, friends, and organizational groups.
The pre-requisite for the course is to have a current American Heart Association CPR course completion card. For a schedule of courses to earn a current card please click on Class Schedule on the left menu.
After you earn your instructor status you will need to affiliate with a training center. Training Concepts, Inc. is a training center that welcomes outside instructors to join. The annual fee for affiliating with Training Concepts is $60. Specific information about turning in class rosters and obtaining course completion cards will be explained at the instructor course.
